At The Acme Foundation, we define ourselves as investors and are interested in creating the highest possible levels of outcomes for the grant dollars we have available.
Before continuing, we recommend that you review our grant guidelines here
. As investors, the foundation reviews each proposal with respect to available dollars and responses to these three questions:
1. What will be the results from this proposed investment and how will we know when the results have been achieved? Results are defined as the positive changes in behaviors and/or conditions for people, places, organizations or systems that are achieved through the grant project.
2. How likely is it that the results can be achieved? Our assessment will be based on such factors as past successes of the organization and its efforts, validity of the proposed results and approach to achieve them, organizational capability, logical milestones and key persons and partners critical to success.
3. Is this the best possible use of The Acme Foundation funds given other opportunities before us? We consider the cost relative to the gain - not just for our funds, but all resources going into a project or program.
Your answers to the application questions that follow are intended to help us make informed investment decisions. We hope they help you more clearly define results from your efforts and demonstrate your strengths towards achieving them.
We encourage you to use the available worksheets to successfully complete the application offline before you submit it and keep track of your progress during the grant term. If you have not yet started your application, click here to download the application worksheet
